Team USA Head Coach

The Head Coach of Team USA is responsible for the on-field performance of Team USA. The Head Coach is a volunteer within the Membership Department and reports directly to the Membership Director. The Head Coach works with the National Team Coordinator to ensure the team exemplifies the best of quidditch in the United States.

SCOUTING

  • Attend tournaments throughout the year to scout potential players from across the country.
  • Recruit additional scouts as necessary to assist in covering the entire country.
  • Review film for tournaments they cannot attend
  • Create scouting reports on players up for consideration on Team USA
  • Determine optimal strategy for all opponents Team USA could face in tournament play based of strengths and weaknesses of each team.

ASSISTANT COACH SELECTION

  • The Head Coach is responsible for interviewing and appointing additional members of the National Team coaching staff as they deem necessary.

TRAINING CAMPS AND ROSTER SELECTION

  • In conjunction with National Team Coordinator and Membership Director, determine Team USA selection process.
  • Create a plan for potential training camps
  • The coaching staff will run all training camp practices and scrimmages.
  • Implement the appropriate strategies to prepare the team in practice for each match.
  • Serve as the on-site coach for all National Team matches.
  • Work with National Team Coordinator to create the best possible 21-person rosters for international meets. The Head Coach will have final say on roster appointment.

The National Team Head Coach is expected to attend regular meetings with the Membership Director and the National Team Coordinator in order to discuss developments within the team.
