Follow the Action at 2021 Great Lakes Regional Championship

The Great Lakes Regional Championship takes place November 6-7 in West Chester Township, Ohio. Information about how to stay updated on the action (including livestream) is below.

Schedule

Collegiate teams will participate in a pool play format into a stacked bracket for all 15 teams to determine the collegiate regional champion as well as the six collegiate teams who qualify for 2022 US Quidditch Cup. Club teams will participate in a single round robin format. The top two teams after the round robin will play a game to determine the club champion. College teams play on both Saturday and Sunday; club teams play only on Saturday.

Saturday, November 6:

  • 6:15 am - USQ staff on-site
  • 7 am - teams arrive at fields, player-check in begins, HQ opens
  • 7:30 am - Captain and Coaches meeting
  • 8 am - first games begin
  • 12-3pm - youth quidditch
  • 8 pm - last game slot of the day

Sunday, November 7

  • 6:15 am - USQ staff on-site
  • 7:30 am - teams arrive at fields, HQ opens
  • 8 am - first games begin
  • 12-3pm - youth quidditch
  • 6 pm - last game slot of the day

Facility Information

The tournament takes place at Voice of America MetroPark. Parking is free.

The forecast for this weekend is highs in the high 50s/low 60s and lows in the high 20s and 30s. We will play rain or shine. 

We will be playing on the outdoor turf fields. Permanent restrooms are located adjacent to the fields. 

Facility Policies

  • Outside food and drink are allowed into the park. Please be considerate to not bring food and drink other than water onto the turf, as sports drinks and juices could damage the field.
  • Per park policy, NO alcohol, propane gas, or open flames will be allowed on the event site. Park staff has the ability to eject any participants consuming alcohol at the event.
  • No pets are allowed onto the fields. Service animals are allowed.

Livestream

Select games will be livestreamed on USQ’s YouTube and Twitch channels. On Saturday, we will be streaming games on pitches 2 and 3, streaming one game at a time and alternating pitches every couple of games.

Scores

Score posters will be at the HQ tent. Online, scores will be shared on Twitter and in the schedule spreadsheet. After the event, scores from the collegiate division will be posted here. Club division scores will be posted here.

USQ Merch & Concessions

We will be selling merch at this event, including event t-shirts, trading cards, and mystery bags. We will also have other USQ apparel available. There will be a concessions stand open both days selling sandwiches and other food.

Those taking photos at the event must abide by USQ’s event media policy listed here. Press passes for photographers will be available at the HQ tent.
