2021 Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship Recap

Maryland Quidditch won the collegiate division, and District of Columbia Quidditch Club won the club division at the 2021 Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship October 23-24, 2021.

Eight collegiate teams competed at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship, which took place at Glover Park in Richmond, Virginia, on October 23-24, 2021. Collegiate teams participated in a pool-play format into a bracket for all eight teams to determine the collegiate regional champion and the three collegiate teams who qualified for the 2022 US Quidditch Cup.

Maryland Quidditch won the collegiate division with Quidditch Club at Virginia Tech as runner-up. The score for the championship match was 150-70 (34:30). The game was officiated by head referee Toby March, and the snitch runner was Matthew Cooper. This is Maryland’s sixth regional title. For Virginia Tech, it is the farthest the team has gone at a USQ regional championship.

“It felt fantastic to get the win even on a short roster,” said Heather Farnan from Maryland. “We're super proud of our rookies especially and also our returners for stepping up and making it happen.”
