Welcome Weekend Online Event - September 17-19

USQ is hosting a virtual Welcome Weekend in mid-September to kick off the 2021-22 season. Registration is free. Programs will be available on Twitch and Zoom.

USQ will be kicking off the 2021-22 season with a virtual welcome weekend September 17-19! Join us as we go over our plans for the upcoming season and host various sessions ranging from film review to getting to know your regional coordinator to navigating quidditch post-pandemic.

Welcome Weekend is free to attend and open to new and seasoned players alike. To register, please complete this form. We will be streaming all sessions on our Twitch channel for those not looking to actively participate. Active participants will join us in Zoom and will be entered into a merchandise giveaway!

Starting Friday night, we’ll begin with a welcome session before moving on to a film review. Take a look at multiple games with Fast Break News’ Serena Monteiro as she breaks down plays and concepts to help your understanding of the strategic side of quidditch.

Come back on Saturday to meet your region’s coordinator to ask any questions you may have and get to know your direct contact to USQ. We’ll also be holding a session to review the rules in Rulebook 15 as there have been some key changes from the previous rulebook. Wrapping up the night will be updates from USQ where you can learn more about league policies as well as get to know the people behind them!

Day three (Sunday) shines a light on the importance of supporting leaders and players in a post-pandemic world and creating opportunities for community members from underrepresented groups to connect with another. We’ll go over working with colleges/universities in addition to navigating the transition of power between executive boards. There will also be small group discussions held only over Zoom for people from underrepresented communities, like BIPOC people and LGBTQIA+ folks.

Don’t forget to register and, if you have any questions, please email
