USQ Grant Program Updates

Updates on USQ’s grant program including the team member grant and equipment grant.

An update to the grant program has been made to better support our community. This update has been made in response to the cancellation of US Quidditch Cup and considers the impact COVID-19 has financially had on teams and USQ's commitment to create more opportunities for an equitable space for BIPOC community members. We’ve eliminated the registration fee grant for nationals and event sanctioning grants for the remainder of this season. Adjustments to the team member grant have been made, and we will continue to offer the equipment grant. We will be announcing further details for a new BIPOC membership grant later this spring. Details on the team member grant and equipment grant can be found below or on our grants page.

TEAM MEMBER GRANT

The Team Member Grant is available for ten USQ member teams. This grant covers the team registration fee and nine individual player memberships valid for the 2021-22 season (value of $880). The awarded teams will receive redemption codes to purchase these memberships for their team in the new season.

LET THE KIDS PLAY EQUIPMENT GRANT

This grant, led as an initiative from the USQ Board of Directors, will provide a new set of hoops for five developing college or youth teams (value of $250). With COVID-19 having an impact on new team development, any unawarded funds remaining from this year's grant will be added to next seasons Let the Kids Play grant offering. The hoop supplier will be Shooty Hoops Supplies, which is owned and operated by Matt Melton and Krystina Packard.
