Registration updates for 2020-21 season USQ-hosted events and circuit events.
USQ is not hosting fall regional championships this season. More information is available here.
Information on team registration for USQ regional championships and circuit events are now available. Details on team registration for US Quidditch Cup 14 will be available in October. However, some general information is also posted below.
Questions about the team registration process for USQ events should be directed to membership@usquidditch.org.
As announced earlier this month, all USQ member teams are currently in stage 1 of the COVID-19 return to play guidelines. This means that official games may not take place until further notice. On September 4, there will be another update on if teams may progress to stage 2, and what activities will be permitted at that time.
Full information on policies and programs impacted by COVID-19 are available here on our website.
There is not an additional cost to member teams to attend a USQ regional championship or circuit event. It is included with the cost of team and player memberships.
Collegiate teams can attend any regional championship, regardless of where their team is located. Teams can also attend as many regional events as they would like. There will be a cap on the number of teams who can attend each event based on the hosting state and local outdoor gathering guidelines in October and November. Regional size will be announced 29 days before the event. If registration numbers have reached the capped amount, teams who have not attended another regional championship will be prioritized.
Club teams can attend multiple USQ regional championship and circuit events per season.
Further details on team registration for these tournaments is available here.
Once events start for the 2020-21 season, a tracking spreadsheet for USQ event registration and membership requirements will be available here (link will be updated when events are allowed). It tracks the following things for teams:
Once games and events can start taking place, event requirements will be updated once a day, Monday-Friday, by 8pm ET, until November 9. From November 10-January 3, it will be updated twice a week. From January 4-April 5, registration information will be updated once a day, Monday-Friday, by 8pm ET. Membership requirements are updated on a similar schedule, though referee tests will still be updated on a more frequent basis in November and December.
Additionally, there is a seperate tracking spreadsheet for teams competing at official events here (link will be updated when events are allowed). USQ will update this spreadsheet once official events can begin. There will be tabs for each weekend in the season that has official events. It will list out what teams are competing at which events, and the status of their gameplay and membership requirements needed in order to be eligible to compete officially.
As previously mentioned, registration for USQ Regional Championships will open 29 days prior to the event date.
These dates for each regional championship are:
The registration process and requirements are very similar for collegiate and club teams.
More information on specific dates and locations for or circuit events, will be finalized by October if events are allowed to resume. Club teams attending a USQ circuit event can expect to have the same registration deadlines as the regional championship the circuit is being held at.
The following items are required:
Fill out the registration form here (link will be updated when events are allowed). For teams wanting to attend more than one regional or circuit event, they can either select which events they want to go to and fill out the form en masse for all of them, or submit separate registration forms for each event.
Register for the event on the calendar. Links will be made available on this page once events are allowed. To request attendance, have a team admin login to the USQ website. Then, go to the appropriate event calendar link. Click the blue button that says Request Attendance. Please note that calendar events for club circuit events won’t be posted until a later date.
Reserve hotel rooms and notify USQ of your hotel arrangements. (More information on our stay and play policy will be updated September 1)
The following items are optional:
Teams must also complete the membership requirements listed here to be eligible to compete officially in all events, not just USQ hosted regional and national championships.
For a team to compete at a USQ regional championship or circuit event, it must be registered for the tournament at least 2 weeks prior to the event.
For club and collegiate teams, there are no season play requirements for regional championships or circuit events.
The schedule of club circuit events will be available at a later date.

USQ’s Director of Events & Partnerships is working with the host cities for fall and spring regional championships to finalize room blocks with hotels, and information on rates will be available over the next couple of weeks. Teams can expect to pay between $75 and $130 a night, excluding tax.
Due to restrictions caused by COVID-19, USQ is updating and reducing limits on their stay and play policy for the 2020-21 regional championships. A revised stay and play policy will be updated on September 1.
USQ Cup 14 is scheduled to take place April 17-18, 2021 in Salt Lake City Utah. As previously announced, USQ Cup 14 will be an open invitational, instead of a bid based tournament. There will be one division for club, and two divisions for collegiate.
As mentioned in our gameplay policies update, teams will not have to attend a regional to register for USQ Cup. All teams must complete season play requirements by 11:59pm ET on Sunday, April 4. Teams are not required to attend a regional or circuit event to register for USQ Cup 14, as long as the gameplay requirements are met.
To qualify and confirm a spot at USQ Cup 14, a team must register with USQ, fill out the team registration form (available at a later date), and complete two of the following:
Registration for nationals is otherwise open in 2021 and spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. More information on USQ Cup will be released in October.
