USQ’s diversity, equity, and inclusion team is now recruiting for committee members. Applications close July 31.
In May, USQ announced its new diversity, equity, & inclusion (DEI) committee, a group dedicated to furthering initiatives to continue to make quidditch a safe and welcoming place for people of all backgrounds to participate in. The team is now ready to expand and is looking for applicants to join the committee.
This committee will work collaboratively with the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Coordinator, Brandi Cannon; Strategic Planning Manager, Megan Anderson; and Executive Director, Mary Kimball. Committee members will be expected to actively contribute to projects and discussions on a regular basis.
With regards to operation, this committee will help advise other departments on DEI work and help hold the league accountable for DEI goals and progress towards them. The goal is for all departments to contribute to this work, not just DEI committee members.
We encourage anyone with interest in this opportunity to apply.
Key takeaways from the BIPOC town halls hosted in June will be shared publicly this month. DEI committee members will be announced in August, along with an updated list of projects this team will be working on based on strategic plan goals and BIPOC town hall key takeaways.
