Follow the Action at 2019 Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship

The Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship will take place November 9-10 in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Information about how to stay updated on the action (including livestream) is below.


The collegiate teams will participate in pool play in four pools of four (4) teams, before continuing on to a bracket structure to determine the collegiate regional champion as well as the seven (7) collegiate teams who qualify for US Quidditch Cup 13. The club teams will participate in a single round robin, playing each other team one time. The club circuit event will take place on Saturday only; there will be no bracket. Games played in the club division will be worth 2 circuit points per game.

Saturday, November 9:

7 am - setup volunteers arrive
7:30 am - player check-in starts for those who did not check in Friday evening
8:15 am - captains and coaches meeting for those who did not attend one Friday evening
9 am - games begin
1:30 - 3:15 pm - youth quidditch workshop
6 pm - final round of games begin 

Sunday, November 10:

7 am - setup volunteers arrive
7:30 am - HQ opens
9 am - bracket play begins
1:30 - 3:15 pm - youth quidditch workshop
2:30 pm - semi-final games
5:15 pm - championship game
5 pm - final bid game
5:45 pm - medal ceremony

The tournament takes place at Bryan Multi-Sports Complex.

Limited bleacher seating is available. Spectators are encouraged to bring in chairs. 

The forecast for Saturday is sunny with a high of 55°. For Sunday, the forecast is sunny with a high of 63°. We will play rain or shine.

Facility Policies

  • Outside food and drink are allowed into the park. Please be considerate to not bring food and drink other than water onto the turf, as sports drinks and juices could damage the field.
  • Per park policy, NO alcohol, propane gas, or open flames will be allowed on the event site. Park staff has the ability to eject any participants consuming alcohol at the event.
  • No pets are allowed onto the fields. Service dogs are allowed.


Fans and parents can follow coverage from the Eighth Man for livestreamed games. They will be broadcast on Facebook and YouTube. USQ will be livestreaming snitch on pitch coverage for the final bracket play games on Sunday on Instagram

Score posters will be at the HQ tent. Online, scores will be shared on Twitter and in the schedule spreadsheet. The bracket for the collegiate division will be released on Saturday evening, after games have finished. 

Youth Quidditch

On Saturday and Sunday, we will free introduction to quidditch workshops for those aged 5-18 (aimed at elementary, middle, and high school students). We will go over the basics of the game, run some drills, and have a scrimmage.

USQ will provide all the equipment. Participants are required to wear closed toe shoes and encouraged to bring a water bottle and sunscreen. 

All participants will need to have their parent or guardian sign a waiver. 

Sign-ups are available online and participants can also sign up for either or both workshops in person at the HQ tent. 

USQ Merch

We will be selling merch at this event, including an event t-shirt and trading cards. We will have a limited supply of USQ apparel. Trading cards will be available later in the afternoon on Saturday; we will post on the Facebook event when they are on sale. Please be sure to bookmark our DFTBA online store as we will be fully stocked again by Thanksgiving and they will be running a special on free shipping around that time.

Food Truck

Two food trucks will be on-site on Saturday from 11 am - 4 pm. On Sunday, the Snack Wagon will be on-site from 11 am - 4 pm.
