Follow the Action at 2019 Great Lakes Regional Championship

The Great Lakes Regional Championship will take place November 2-3 in West Chester Township, Ohio. Information about how to stay updated on the action (including livestream) is below.


The teams will participate in pool play in two pools of five (5) teams and one pool of four (4) teams, before continuing on to a bracket structure to determine the collegiate regional champion as well as the seven (7) collegiate teams who qualify for US Quidditch Cup 13.

Saturday, November 2:

7:00 am - setup volunteers arrive 
7:30 am - player check-in starts for those who did not check-in Friday evening
8:15 am - on-site meeting for coaches and captains who did not attend one Friday; also meeting with
HRs, LARs, and certified snitches
9:00 am - games begin
2:30 pm - youth quidditch 
6:45 pm - final round of games begin 

Sunday, November 3:

7:00 am - setup volunteers arrive 
7:30 am - player check-in starts for those who did not check in already
9:00 am - games begin
1:45 pm - semifinals
4:30 pm - championship 
5:15 pm - final bid game 

Facility Information

The tournament takes place at Voice of America Athletic Complex.

When you turn into the complex, there is first a cluster of baseball fields on the left. Continue straight, and you will come upon the soccer fields. We recommend that teams park in the middle of the complex. Parking is free for players, referees, and volunteers. Spectators have to pay $5 for the day or $10 for an annual pass.  

Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs. 

The forecast for Saturday is sunny with a high of 50° and a chance of showers in the afternoon. For Sunday, the forecast is sunny with a high of 50°. We will play rain or shine. 

There is a permanent restroom building adjacent to the fields.

Facility Policies

  • Outside food and drink are allowed into the park. Selling of food and drink is prohibited.
  • Per park policy, NO alcohol will be allowed on the event site. Park staff has the ability to eject any participants consuming alcohol at the event.
  • Voice of America Metro park is pet friendly, but no pets are allowed onto the fields. Service dogs are allowed. There is a dog park located at the complex. Please feel free to utilize this for your furry friends and to be considerate of all dog park rules.


Fans and parents can follow coverage from USQ for livestreamed games. We will be streaming from eiter our YouTube account or Facebook page. Check the Facebook event for links. Here is a tentative livestream schedule for Saturday. On Sunday, we will continue streaming at least 1 pitch.

Score posters will be at the HQ tent. Online, scores will be shared on Twitter. The bracket will be released on Saturday evening, after games have finished. 

Youth Quidditch

On Saturday, we will have a free introduction to quidditch workshops for those aged 5-18 (aimed at elementary, middle, and high school students). We will go over the basics of the game, run some drills, and have a scrimmage.

USQ will provide all the equipment. Participants are required to wear closed toe shoes and encouraged to bring a water bottle and sunscreen. 

All participants will need to have their parent or guardian sign a waiver. 

Sign-ups are available online and participants can also sign up the workshop in person at the HQ tent.

We will be selling merch at this event, including an event t-shirt and trading cards. We will have a limited supply of USQ apparel. Please be sure to bookmark our DFTBA online store as we will be fully stocked again by Thanksgiving and they will be running a special on free shipping around that time.

The concessions stand will be open all weekend and will have fresh fruit, granola, snack bars, and entrees like burgers and frenc fries.
