June 17, 2019: finalist added for Northeast Regional Championship
The bid process for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons began in July 2018 and the bid submission deadline was February 15, 2019. Overall, a total of 20 cities bid for 16 events (eight events per season) across the next two seasons. The bid process will re-open in the fall for the 2021-22 season.
In May and June, USQ staff will conduct site visits with finalist cities. We will also conduct a thorough internal review of the locations. Teams, officials, volunteers, and fans are invited to give feedback via surveys. The surveys are open through Thursday, June 20 at 11:59 pm ET.
Final event dates and locations will be announced at the end of June.
US Quidditch evaluated submitted bids based on the location of the bid, the quality of facilities, the amount of financial support (both direct financial support and additional in-kind support), and the level of community support, including letters of nominations from local teams as applicable. Each of the bid packages of the event finalists listed below surpassed USQ bid requirements and expectations in at least one of these categories. Further explanation of the bid process can be found on the event bidding page.
In addition, we gave the following considerations additional weight:
Please note that additional finalists may be added during the review process.
