The USQ Referee Team has added a new volunteer, Kelby Brooks.
US Quidditch is pleased to announce that Kelby Brooks has joined the Referee Team, effective immediately.
Brooks started playing quidditch in 2013, and began refereeing in 2014. He takes his role as a referee seriously. “[My] highest priority has always been ensuring that the players would feel confident about whomever stepped on to the pitch as their referee. When necessary, [I have] been very outspoken on ways to improve confidence and reliability in referees,” Brooks said.
Brooks brings experience from three regions to the team, having previously played in the Southwest for Cougar Quidditch and Clonestar Quidditch Club and in the West for the Los Angeles Gambits. He currently plays in the South for Gainesville Siege.
The referee team focuses on improving the quality of referee resources, maintaining the referee tests to target areas of specific need or improvement, overseeing the administration of referees throughout the USQ season, and scheduling referees for USQ events.
