The gameplay format and schedule for the 2017 Great Lakes Regional Championship are announced below.
The 2017 USQ Great Lakes Regional Championship will be a round robin tournament in both divisions. The community teams will participate in a triple round robin, playing each other team three times. The collegiate teams will participate in a single round robin, playing each other team one time. There will be no additional bracket structure.

The team in each region with the highest ranking at the end of the tournament will be the Regional Champion in their division. and will qualify for US Quidditch Cup 11. Additionally, the collegiate teams ranked 2 through 5 will also qualify for the national championship. To learn more about qualification, please see this article.
Rankings will be based on the USQ tiebreaker policy. The primary comparison will be win percentage, followed by head-to-head, then quaffle points against, then quaffle points for, then snitch catch percentage.
