USQ Update
2016-2017 Event Bid Finalists Announced
US Quidditch is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2016-2017 season events, along with the date and location of the West Regional Championship for 2017.
US Quidditch is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2016-2017 season events. Overall, a total of 26 bids were received for the nine events to be held this coming season.
Over the next month, USQ staff will conduct site visits with finalist cities. Final event dates and locations will be announced in July.

"I'm excited to announce the finalists for our tenth national championship. We've had a relationship with all three finalist cities for some time now, and I look forward to meeting with them again at the site visits later this summer," says Sarah Woolsey, Interim Executive Director and Events Director for USQ.
Kissimmee, Florida hosted World Cup VI in 2012, and Tulsa, Oklahoma hosted the Southwest Regional Championship in 2014. Quidditch has been on San Diego's radar for several seasons.

No finalists as location has been previously decided for the 2016-17 season.
As announced last summer, the 2017 West Regional Championship will be held in Peoria, Arizona at Pioneer Community Park. We are excited to announce the date: February 25-26, 2017. Information about team registration for this event and all others will be available later this summer.
US Quidditch evaluated submitted bid based on the location of the bid, the amount of financial support (both cash and in-kind), the quality of facilities, and the level of community support. Each of the bid packages of the event finalists listed above surpassed USQ bid requirements and expectations in at least one of these categories. Further explanation of the bid process can be found on the event bidding page.
