Event Bidding Process Launches for 2016-18 Seasons
US Quidditch announces the opening of the bid submission process for events in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons and the location of the West Regional Championship in 2017.
Interested parties may review USQ’s bid manual, accessible here, for detailed information on deadlines and requirements for hosting one of USQ’s premier events next season: the US Quidditch Cup and/or one of eight Regional Championships.
To initiate the bid process, interested parties should first download and review the bid manual. Potential hosts must submit a letter of intent, along with the bid snapshot and the completed bid package, by February 19, 2016. USQ will select finalists from among the bids received in March 2016, and will conduct site visits of all the finalist locations over the months of May and June. The locations for events for the next season(s) will be announced in June 2016.
HOW TO GET YOUR CITY/COLLEGE INVOLVED
USQ will accept bids from any city or official college administration, or hybrid bids from a college-city partnership. If you wish to approach your city and/or college administration about bidding for a USQ event, please follow this link for further instructions.
BID PROCESS TIMELINE
- October 8, 2015: bidding process begins
- February 19, 2016: bid package submission deadline
- March 2016: finalists for each event announced
- June 2016: locations for 2016-17 events announced
West Regional Championship 2017
The West Regional Championship in 2017 will be held in Peoria, AZ. Dates and additional information will be available in June 2016.
