Barcelos and Mansfield join USQ as Regional Coordinators

Effective immediately, Elizabeth Barcelos and Josh Mansfield join USQ in the volunteer roles of West Regional Coordinator and Southwest Regional Coordinator, respectively.

As regional coordinators, Elizabeth Barcelos and Josh Mansfield will act as liaisons between USQ members from their respective regions and US Quidditch. Barcelos and Mansfield will relay USQ decisions and explain policies to their teams and membership base, while accurately relaying team concerns and feedback to the rest of USQ staff.

Barcelos joined the San Jose State quidditch team in 2013 as a junior, coming with a wealth of past leadership experiences. She became vice president of the team that year, and has been involved in organizing quidditch ever since.

"I was excited to watch the West prove that it's a force to be reckoned with at World Cup 8, and I am so excited to build on that in the coming season!" Barcelos said.

Mansfield was introduced to quidditch in 2010 in Cincinnati, Ohio, his hometown, before moving on to found Tulane Quidditch in 2013. He is still a captain and beater for the team, as well as a USQ head referee.

“I’m very excited to be able to jump onboard as Southwest Regional Coordinator. The Southwest is a very strong region - I’m looking forward to helping smaller and newer teams in the region form and develop, as well as helping to increase tournament opportunities for all teams,” Mansfield said.

The USQ West region includes the states of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah.

The USQ Southwest region includes the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
