USQ Update

Mallory Announced Mid-Atlantic Regional Coordinator

Effective immediately, Erin Mallory will become USQ’s new Mid-Atlantic Regional Coordinator, following Lydia Fisher-Lasky, who stepped down from her volunteer role a few months ago.

Mallory was a four-year player for Maryland Quidditch, as well as president of the team during her junior and senior years. Throughout her tenure as both player and president, Mallory helped direct four tournaments, including the recipient event of the 2014 USQ Competitive Event award for the UMD Turtle Cup III. Mallory competed with the UMD team in the semifinals of USQ World Cup 8, and is ready to bring the same level of energy and excitement to her new volunteer role with USQ.

“I want to bring the Mid-Atlantic region to its highest potential... It’s my goal to help establish many new programs and partnership programs between schools to help foster a strong community in the Mid-Atlantic, as well as making the region a strong presence in the quidditch community,” Mallory said.

Mallory brings knowledge of the region to her new role, as well as strong existing relationships with many local teams and players, all of which will help her succeed in the new position. As an experienced intramural referee and supervisor for the UMD intramural sports program, she has accumulated valuable institutional knowledge for a thriving sports organization outside of quidditch. While Mallory will no longer be playing competitive quidditch, she is excited for the opportunity to remain closely involved with the quidditch community.
