Alison O’Neil, University of Washington Lacrosse Club Coach and nonprofit fundraising expert, is joining the USQ Board of Directors.
O’Neil was selected as part of the Board’s initiative to find and select three new members. O’Neil comes to the table with significant experience in sports and nonprofits. She earned three consecutive varsity letters as a member of the Division I Women’s Lacrosse Team at Cornell University and currently serves as a Women’s Lacrosse Club Coach at the University of Washington (UW). While coaching at UW she helped the team bounce back from a losing season to win third place the following year at the Northwest Championship.
O’Neil has also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for various nonprofits over the years, working in development at Grassroots Campaigns, where she tripled their fundraising efforts in one season, as well as Rhyther where she managed very large donors.
"I am thrilled to join US Quidditch and the Board of Directors,” O'Neil said. “With this great group of passionate people, I hope to help expand the organization and build relationships with the sport's avid supporters. I love how vibrant and dedicated the teams are as competitors, and I am inspired by their camaraderie. I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of such an exciting, growing new sport!"
O’Neil will be joining the Board of Directors immediately. The board meets in person two times per year and holds conferences calls once per month to set and guide the long-term mission and financial health of the organization. The Board is still seeking two additional new members. Interested applicants can learn more about the characteristics of ideal candidates and apply here.
