USQ is proud to present the fourth Thursday Rundown, part of a series that updates readers on developments and ongoing projects around the league.
The Thursday Rundown will run twice a month on average, although throughout the year it may increase or decrease in frequency depending on league activity and news. Interested readers can read the last Thursday Rundown here. Read on for today’s Rundown topics:
USQ Organizational Restructure
USQ is restructuring its internal operations by consolidating departments to run under employee supervision and moving former teams department volunteers into the events and membership departments. This will channel more volunteer resources into events organization, streamline communication with teams, and allow for more efficient volunteer management by enabling more consistent contact with full-time employees. Teams department volunteers have already been briefed in detail and are currently being reassigned based on their interest and how they can contribute best to the league and sport, and all staff were notified in an email with the details last week.
Strategic Plan Focus Groups in Need of Sign-ups
The three-year strategic plan that USQ is currently developing will be significantly based upon the discussions and input from focus groups that USQ is organizing. These groups are open to any member, player, or fan, or anyone involved in US Quidditch in any manner, and USQ is seeking the most diverse group possible to ensure that all perspectives are considered. USQ is hosting a total of 44 sessions on 11 different topics and hopes to have at least 200 signups to include the most variety in answers and discussions and make the plan as reflective as possible of the league’s members’ goals. Right now USQ has just 87 members - if you want to spend 60-90 minutes (the length of an average focus group session) to have a major impact on the future of the sport, this is the way to do it.
