The Los Angeles Gambits took home the crown as the US Quidditch West Regional Champions today, and qualified for USQ World Cup along with 10 other West region teams.
After two long days of warm, sunny games in front of a large local spectator crowd, the Los Angeles Gambits emerged victorious after a close game against their crosstown rival, the Lost Boys Quidditch Club, 160*-100.
Twenty-two teams participated in the regional championship, and the final standings are listed below. Teams in bold are USQ World Cup 8 qualifiers and will be among the 80 teams nationally that have received a spot at Rock Hill, South Carolina this April 11-12:
US Quidditch wishes to congratulate the Los Angeles Gambits and all qualifying and competing teams who raised funds, traveled to the event, and played tough and exciting games all weekend. USQ is especially grateful to its staff, volunteers, referees, and snitches who helped plan, put on, and generally make the event possible.
