Hoops Chosen as Editorial Team Leader

US Quidditch is proud to announce that David Hoops has been selected as the new Editorial Team Leader, effective immediately.

US Quidditch is proud to announce that David Hoops has been selected as the new Editorial Team Leader, effective immediately.

Hoops first joined USQ in 2013 as a Midwest correspondent covering the teams in that region, and has throughout his writing tenure taken on more leadership responsibilities.

As a senior sports industry major, captain of the Ohio State University quidditch team, and USQ Midwest Correspondent for over a year, David Hoops brings a wealth of experience and perspective to the position of Editorial Team Leader. He will be responsible for coordinating writers, editors, photographers, and videographers to produce continuous high quality content and reporting on the USQ website, and is also responsible for setting the general direction of the department’s efforts.

"I'm extremely excited to step forward into the Editorial Team Leader position,” Hoops wrote in a statement. “My past leaders, Andy Marmer and Amanda Dallas, both did phenomenal work that pushed the IQA and USQ websites into higher positions of legitimacy, relevancy, and accuracy. I'm looking forward to retaining some of their past policies while implementing new ones that I believe will help not just US Quidditch as an organization but the sport of quidditch in general."

Hoops will be replacing Andy Marmer, who served as interim Editorial Team Leader this summer. Marmer will continue to volunteer for USQ as an editor on the Editorial Team  while completing his law degree.
