Mason/IQA Staff. For me, sports have always been a really competitive thing where winning is the only important aspect. For most of my junior years, I only played sport to win, and would only join teams if the team was good. I'd lost sight of one of the most important things in sports - having fun. I've always been a massive fan of Harry Potter, so I was very intrigued when YouTube recommended me a muggle quidditch video. This eventually led me to watching "Brooms Up." I instantly fell in love with the game after viewing it, despite me not even playing it! I did some research and found a team (the only one in my area) holding a "come and try" day that weekend. I ended up bullying my best friend into coming with me to check it out. As soon as I stepped onto that pitch, I never wanted to leave it. Quidditch has actually made me enjoy sports once again. I am now proud to say that after that day, I helped form Victoria's* second quidditch team and we have now grown to 19 solid members. Quidditch has changed my life and I know that one day I'll be teaching my grandchildren this wonderful game. -Meg Harding *Victoria, Australia Meg Harding photo Photo courtesy of Meg Harding.
