Root, root root for the home team! The IQA is opening up a select spot in Division 2 for one local team in the Florida area.

Due to the fact that Southern Regional Championship and
Division 2 registration will not be taking place until six weeks before this year's World Cup, the IQA is immediately opening applications to guarantee one Division 2 spot at the World Cup to the local team that demonstrates the best ability to sell tickets, recruit volunteers, and generally build buzz and bring out a large local crowd for the event - and is willing to get started on doing all of this right away.
Applicants should fill out the following form by no later than 11:59PM EST on Thursday, January 24th.
Applicants must be located in the state of Florida, and ideal applicants will be based in the Kissimmee/Orlando area.
LOCAL TEAM SPOT APPLICATION FORM
Applicants are required to be basic or official official member teams. (Applicants that are not official members may still apply, but they must become official members immediately if they receive the nomination, and should be ready to pay at least $150 for their basic membership.) Any such applicant team may still compete in a qualifying regional championship tournament. If the member qualifies for World Cup Division 1 by finishing well at a regional championship, their D2 spot will be given to another team during D2 registration.
Additionally, the winning team must still pay the full $25/player registration fee for World Cup. This team will receive money through a revenue sharing plan on all tickets that they sell, under the World Cup ambassador program, which will be open to any and all teams (details to be released on World Cup VI website, launch coming soon.)
Ideal applicants should also:
-Demonstrate a high degree of team organization and professionalism
-Have a sizable team and demonstrate ingenuity, perseverance, and success in growing that team
-Have a dedicated team organizing group of at least 5 members who are fully committed to promoting their team's participation in the World Cup event and willing to put in a minimum of 10 hours per week each to do so.
-Be able to host quidditch youth demonstration games and gym classes at a minimum of 5 schools in the Kissimmee area between now and April 8th (IQA will connect the team with local school administrators).
-Be able to host at least three intercollegiate games on campus before the World Cup.
-Demonstrate an actionable plan using a variety of marketing strategies to sell a minimum of 500 tickets between now and April 12th, and recruit at least 50 volunteers between now and March 17th.
-Have a clear plan for promoting the event through major influencers in the local community, both in a college and city setting.
Selected applicants will receive support from the IQA and its partners in the following ways:
-Press releases distributed to local and regional outlets to help build general buzz for the event
-Thousands of flyers for the teams to distribute
-Introductions to local school administrators to schedule demonstration games
-Hard-copy tickets to sell on-campus and through friends/family in the local community
The World Cup marketing team will begin reviewing applications as soon as the submission deadline passes, and will announce their selection no more than one week thereafter.
