Calling all quidditch photographers and media managers!
The IQA is looking for volunteer photographers and a Photography Sub-Department Director to work at the World Cup VI event. As always, a full list of open volunteer positions in the IQA may be found here.
Sub-Department Director
The IQA seeks a volunteer Photography Sub-Department Director to work at World Cup VI in Kissimmee FL as part of the World Cup marketing team.
This volunteer will be expected to manage a team of volunteer photographers and plan out coverage of games and other spectacles at the World Cup event.
The team will have a homebase tent with the rest of the marketing team, with power for charging cameras and extra laptops and hard-drives to offload files or memory cards if need be.
The sub-department director will be expected to be working during most of the weekend, and will be expected to stay near the marketing tent for most of that time, in order to better coordinate other photographers, with meal breaks and occasional allowance to go photograph games with the team.
The sub-department director will receive free admission to the event, a volunteer staffing t-shirt, and will have the option of staying in the marketing team's hotel room during the Thursday through Sunday nights of the event weekend.
Photography experience is required for this position (ideally including experience in photographing quidditch), with management experience highly preferred as well. In place of management experience, natural organization, logistics, and scheduling skills will suffice.
Please send a resume, cover letter, and online photography portfolio link to
katie.stack@internationalquidditch.org.
Team Members
Team members will be scheduled by the World Cup HR team to work in shifts and will follow the team director's instructions to cover various games and sights at the tournament.
Volunteers must be able to attend the event and will receive free admission and a volunteer staff shirt, along with an IQA photographer credential.
Members must have their own camera. Quidditch photography and/or sports photography experience is strongly suggested.
Applicants should email
hannah.pohlmann@internationalquidditch.org with a resume, cover letter, and online portfolio link.
