The IQA is accepting applications on a rolling basis for the position of Public Relations Coordinator. The PR Coordinator will work with the PR team in promoting quidditch and IQA events through newspaper, television, radio, and internet press. Coordinators will help promote major IQA events such as World Cup, regional tournaments, and exhibition matches, as well as the sport of quidditch and the IQA itself. The coordinator will be responsible for establishing and/or following up with media contacts in their assigned area, as requested by the Public Relations Manager, helping to build a positive, long- term relationship between the IQA and the press. Key duties and responsibilities: -Represent the IQA and the sport of quidditch to current and potential players and spectators -Work in a specific focus of PR as designated by the PR Manager (e.g. regional media, a media campaign, etc.) -Create press releases, media packages, and other promotional materials -Attend weekly PR team meetings All candidates must: -Present a professional attitude toward the league and the sport even when not “on the job” (e.g. on personal social networks) -Possess enthusiasm for quidditch -Maintain frequent access to email and other forms of communication -Possess strong writing ability -Have good communication skills -Conduct themselves in a professional manner in public even when not “on the job;” e.g. on social networks In addition, ideal candidates will: -Possess previous experience working in public relations
