The IQA is looking for a responsible, dedicated volunteer for the position of Editorial Manager, and multiple volunteers to fill the role of Conventions Coordinator. These positions are each in the Marketing Department, and each provides a unique way to be involved in promoting the sport of quidditch.
Editorial Manager
The Editorial Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day content on posted on the IQA website, including news stories and league announcements. The Editorial Manager oversees a staff of writers and copy editors, and reports directly to the Marketing Director.
Duties and responsibilities:
-Ensure the presence of daily posts on the IQA website, including news items, league announcements, and strategy articles
-Oversee a staff of writers and copy editors
-Coordinate marketing efforts with those of other managers (Social Media, Video, Conventions, PR) in the Marketing Department
All candidates must:
-Have a mastery of the English language and its grammar
-Have previous experience editing prose
-Have the ability to assign and work under deadlines
-Attend weekly Marketing Department meetings
-Lead regular meetings of the Editorial Team
-Maintain frequent access to email, Facebook, and other modes of communication
In addition, ideal candidates will:
-Have a specific vision for the goals of the Editorial Team
-Have previous quidditch experience
-Have previous leadership and/or management experience

Conventions Coordinator
Conventions Coordinators will help organize the IQA's presence at various fan and pop culture conventions across the world. This presence typically manifests itself in the form of demonstration matches between IQA teams, exhibition matches in which convention guests participate, and formal presentations and panels. Conventions Coordinators will also staff information booths at these events.
Conventions Coordinators will serve under the Conventions Manager in the Marketing Department. The position is unique both in terms of its responsibilities and its time commitment. Coordinators should expect to work 7 hours per week, or more in the weeks leading up to a convention they are organizing.
Duties and responsibilities:
-Act as primary contact for organizing IQA appearances at certain conventions
-Foster strong relationships with convention organizers and other third parties
-Plan details of convention presence with the Conventions Manager and other coordinators
-Track the progress for each event as needed
-Direct on-site operations at conventions, including managing demo matches and kidditch events, and giving formal presentations
-Coordinate established teams to appear and volunteer at conventions
-Represent the IQA to external organizations and new audiences in a professional manner
All candidates must:
-Have at least 1 year previous quidditch experience
-Understand how the game of quidditch works to explain the rules to new audiences
-Be knowledgeable about the history and organizational structure of the IQA, and its functions as a non-profit organization and sports league
-Have the ability to work under strict deadlines
-Be able to make tough but rational decisions as needed in real time
-Possess good public speaking skills
-Be available for the entirety of some weekends (approximately 3-4 per year) to attend conventions
-Be able to fund their own transportation to, and accommodations during, convention appearances (this does not include convention registration)
-Maintain prompt email and phone correspondence with members of the Conventions Team and external convention organizers
In addition, ideal candidates will:
-Have previous management or leadership experience
-Have previous experience representing quidditch at conventions
-Have previous event planning experience
-Have a working relationship with multiple established teams in their area
-Contribute to geographic diversity on the Conventions Team
