The physicality in this game is very real

In virtual terms, it meant players running around would come back ten metres away from where they started. The game changer for FUT 22 Coins EA has been the LPS system, which is a local positioning system. Rather than GPS satellites, LPS beacons were dotted throughout the stadium, and motion sensors attached to players' chests.

It also meant that high-quality data could finally be captured in a real football match. "We selected the two teams in Spain's third tier because they have an historic rivalry," Eaves says. Both are professionally-run, well-coached teams with an amazing technique. They play possession-based football with control and finesse. They're perfect for a video game because we want it to be fast and enjoyable."

EA provided minimal direction beyond advising players and coaches that the game was "must win". The game didn't require extra edge. Eaves recalls that players were sub-contracted, which allowed us to capture exhausted defenders or fresh forwards as the game was progressing. It was clear that there was tension. It was exactly what we wanted There were so many violations within the first five minutes.

The off-the-ball actions - shouting, pointing, gestures and postures were invaluable for EA in making the most of the physicality and excitement of a real-life sport. Eaves says that when a stuntman falls against one of the players in motion capture, they will pop back up. It doesn't have the physicality of a real game. The physicality in this game is very real. When the player stands up and is furious, we get all of that intensity and put it in our game."

EA could create 8.75 million frames of animation just by capturing 22 players in 90 minutes. The machine learning kicks in. Eaves explained that in the past we'd chosen an animation from our database whenever a player approached the ball to cheap FIFA 22 Coins complete the next action such as a pass, shot or dribble. "But it doesn't have any idea of the context. This information trains the network to mix animations.
