Personally, I would like vanilla to remain the same
Because everyone is dealing with so many concerns and desires changes, SoM is so weird. But, this is exactly the kind of discussion that WOW Burning Crusade Classic Gold led us to wow's downfall (noobs asking dualspec, removal of grinding, faster the process of leveling). We shouldn't continue to cater for players who want to be able to play more or count on activision who dont know what MMO is all about. They need to hire additional developers and rid of ion.
Personally, I would like vanilla to remain the same and left as it is. It's undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable games created, and any changes to it will be detrimental to the experience.
The classic plus game won't be released because retail is a thing. If the project titan had succeeded with its original plans, warcraft would've been over a decade old, and we'd now be playing as a successor to WoW, because that's what the game was intended to become.
but yeah they wont do an "classic plus" without placing retail aside, because they are doing unique ideas for two separate mmo's is too much chaos
People are playing different games and they're revealing information about TBC and beyond.
Being a player in Classic WoW and then seeing the way Blizzard did to create honey-to-do tasks to keep people playing in Burning Crusade with rep farming and epic dungeon grinds for me it was a confirmation that this game has been a hamster wheel for more than two decades. This was not a criticism of Activision they were greedy throughout the years and they needed sub goals.
If you're not keen on this strategy for playing I'm suggesting to your that it could be that you haven't loved it, but liked the circumstances at that moment, such as the people that you played with or activities that you participated in during the game. For some, this is a fantastic formula. I discovered that the blizzard treadmill is an item I like, regardless of whether it's Diablo, Classic or retail. However, take it as the thing it is and not what it isn't.
It was definitely an MMO that they had developed and I'm nearly certain that the same type of thinking was part of the development of buy WOW TBC Gold WoW. This was 2004, when people weren't using text messages or the internet as frequently as they do today.
