Officiate and Volunteer at Regional Championships
This page is for those who are interested in officiating and/or volunteering at a USQ regional championship. At these events, collegiate teams play each other to qualify for the national championship, US Quidditch Cup, as well as the title of regional champion. Select USQ regional championships will also have club circuit events going on at the same time at the same facility.
More details on volunteering will be provided once events for the 2021-22 season officially start. To learn more about the status of events due to COVID-19, click here.

SIGN UP FORMS
Details on how to sign-up to volunteer will be provided once events for the 2021-22 season officially start.
Per USQ policy, officials will be compensated as follows:
Teams will be assigned to provide referees and snitch runners during several game slots. If a team does not fulfill their obligations or their officials do not show up for their games as assigned, they will be subject to forfeit for all remaining games of the tournament.
Those who officiate 5 or more games in unpaid positions (either as an AR, scorekeeper, timekeeper, and/or goal judge) are eligible to receive a free t-shirt. Please note that games as part of a team's officials crew requirements do not count towards this total.
The USQ Referee Team will work on assigning Head Referees, Lead Assistant Referees, and referee crews to games. USQ Snitch Team will work on assigning snitches to games. Preference will be given to non-playing officials for assignments at USQ-hosted events (including regionals and nationals).
Signing up to officiate at USQ-hosted events for the 2021-2022 season has not yet opened.

Lunch will be provided for volunteers who work 5 or more hours in one day. Light breakfast will be available in the morning, too. All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt that must be worn while on shift.
USQ events take place outside, rain or shine.
Field Managers are vital to the tournament running smoothly throughout the weekend. They are responsible for checking that their field is fully staffed and running on time according to the schedule. They are the eyes and ears of event staff and are also responsible for relaying real-time information to staff. Field managers are extremely well-organized and are capable of doing what it takes to keep their field running on time.
These individuals will mostly serve as runners. They might help to replace equipment, refill water, and answer questions at the HQ area.
Setup and Teardown
Set-up and teardown volunteers will assist the tournament staff in getting the tournament set up and ready to go and then cleaning up after the games have ended each day. This position will require some amount of lifting and carrying of equipment.
Merch Sales/Guest Services (what we're calling General Volunteers)
Merchandise sales volunteers will assist event staff with the USQ merchandise booth. They will help organize inventory, explain and showcase offerings to customers, and do other things to assist event staff with the selling of merchandise. They may also sell merch. If you have good customer service skills, this position will be good for you. Experience in sales is a bonus!
Youth Quidditch Instructor
Youth quidditch volunteers will be assisting with the youth quidditch pitch: teaching the kids (and adults!) all about how to play quidditch, setting up scrimmages, showing them drills, etc. A certain degree of flexibility is required; your main goal is to make sure the children have a safe and fun time. If you like to work with children, have patience, and have familiarity with the rules of quidditch, this position will be good for you. Please note that you may need to play on the pitch with the children, so a reasonable degree of athleticism is necessary for this position.
Schedules for volunteers will be made available once events for the 2021-22 season officially start.
