USQ+ is the home of all our virtual activities and events. While some of these programs are free and open to the public, most of them will be available exclusively for members. Here is what’s coming up from USQ+:

    • How to on run a team workout session, focusing on exercises that are good for quidditch players as well as safety

    • Themed story shares about favorite or memorable moments off and on the pitch, like a monthly radio hour for quidditch

UPCOMING USQ+ PROGRAMS

Fundraising Workshop

  • Date and time: January 9, 2021 at 7 pm ET
  • Summary: Register for our workshop to learn fundraising strategies, how to build a relationship with your school administration, and why fundraising should be used as a recruitment tool. This workshop will be led by expert fundraiser, Naresh Edala, Rutgers Quidditch alumni and current Rutgers coach. In the 2018-2019 season, Rutgers Quidditch earned an at-large bid 3 weeks before Nationals. In those 3 weeks, Naresh, who was President, Captain, and Treasurer, raised a total of $3,000, securing plane tickets, lodging, and car rentals for his team. The workshop will begin with a presentation by Naresh, followed by a Q&A session. This workshop is open to all, regardless of current team leadership status.

This is How We Fly Book Club

  • Date and time: January 11, 2021 at 8pm ET
  • Summary: Author and quidditch player Anna Meriano published a new novel in December, This is How We Fly. A loose retelling of Cinderella, the book is about a high-school graduate who joins a local quidditch league and finds her footing in life after school. Join Anna and USQ staff for an hour long book club style discussion on This is How We Fly. Learn about Anna's quidditch experience playing for teams like Rice University and Houston Cosmos, her writing process, and more.

Midwest Winter Fantasy/Snow Cup Celebration

  • Date and time: January 14, 2021 at 8pm ET
  • Summary: Celebrate and reflect on past Midwest Winter Fantasy and Snow Cup events with a panel discussion with past participants and organizers.

Return to Play Guidelines for COVID-19

  • Date and time: October 7, 2020 at 8pm ET
  • Summary: USQ staff will go over what teams need to know about the revised return to play guidelines. There will be time for questions from attendees, as well. It will last approximately 1 hour. This program is open to both members and non-members.

International Quidditch

  • Date and time: October 20, 2020 at 7pm ET
  • Summary: As part of our celebration of quidditch's 15th birthday, join us for an hour long program on what's been going on with the sport globally, featuring stories of players from around the world including Argentina, Italy, Peru, Switzerland, and more. This program is open to both members and non-members.

Quidditch Conferences

  • Date and time: October 21, 2020 at 8pm ET
  • Summary: As part of our celebration of quidditch's 15th birthday, join us for an hour long program on quidditch conferences. Conferences have been an important part of the sport for nearly a decade. Learn about what conference leaders are doing with their teams and how they contribute to the growth and success of the sport. This program is open to both memers and non-members.

Rulebook with the Gameplay Department

  • Date and time: October 29 at 8pm ET
  • Summary: On October 5, USQ released the 14th edition of the rulebook. Join members of the gameplay department for an hour long Q&A discussion on all the changes, the process for making the rulebook, and more. Featuring Christian Barnes, Miles Tavis, Sarah Kneiling, Ricky Nelson, and Liam Zach. This program is open to both members and non-members.

10th Anniversary of World Cup IV

  • Date and time: November 13, 2020 at 8pm ET
  • Summary: World Cup IV was held November 13-14, 2010 and featured nearly 50 teams and 10,000 spectators. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of this event, USQ hosted a panel discussion and Q&A with event organizers and players from around that time. This program is open to both members and non-members.
